BlackBerry Storm launched to take on Apple iPhone
Research in Motion has launched their Apple iPhone challenger BlackBerry Storm. in USA, AT&T has Apple iPhone, T-Mobile USA has Google G1 and Verizon Wireless now has Blackberry Storm. Blackberry Storm is the first touchscreen device from RIM which used to dominate the US Smartphone market. ![]() Vodafone is also going to offer it , though Vodafone had first rejected their Blackberry Storm. Read more Verizon and BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIM) are touting the phone’s ‘clickable’ touch-screen, meaning that when letters are touched on the virtual keyboard, a click sound is heard and you can feel the screen depress slightly. Other features mentioned in the press release seem to target the Apple iPhone crowd: A built-in accelerometer like the iPhone (however, no mention if games that utilize this will be created for BlackBerry), full QWERTY keyboard, cut and paste, full Internet, and that funky iPhone feature where you slide your finger to scroll and pan the screen. There’s also a 3.2 MP camera with flash, GPS, 1 GB of built-in memory plus an 8 GB microSD card is included, and a removable rechargeable battery. Availability and pricing have not been released. But both companies have web sites dedicated to the Storm: www.blackberry.com/storm and www.verizonwireless.com/storm Last edited by Gabu; 13-Oct-2008 at 01:52 AM. |
